MW-550D is the MW-550 platform with dual output, allowing two booklets to be produced from one sheet. The MW-550 is a wide-format saddle stitching and folding platform for larger sheet sizes. It is available in single-output and dual-output configurations depending on your production needs. Its four stitching heads distinguish it from the two-head 480 / 490 / 530 platforms.

What sizes of booklet can it make?
It takes flat sheets from 260 × 200 mm to 550 × 595 mm and delivers finished, folded booklets from 260 × 100 mm to 550 × 297 mm.
What stitching thickness can it handle?
It can handle a stitching thickness of 0.2 – 3 mm measured at the spine. The actual page count depends on the paper type and weight.
What paper can it run?
Sheet and cover from 55 – 250 g/m², so light text paper through to a heavy cover.
How fast is it?
Up to 3,000 books/hour, with 4 stitching heads working across the spine.
How many stitching heads?
It stitches with 4 heads. That is the clearest difference from the two-head 480 / 490 / 530 platforms, and it is what lets a wider sheet be stitched across its full width.
What do the suffixes — F, D — actually mean?
The MW-550 platform is available in different finishing and output configurations according to production requirements. F adds an in-line front trimmer that cuts the front edge in the same pass; D adds dual output, allowing two booklets to be produced from one sheet.
